LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR
Springtime Greetings
from Lehigh University!
In our Spring edition of LEHIGHLIGHTS, we have the opportunity to recognize Alumni volunteers who have done so much for the betterment of the university and their community. It is truly astonishing to see the contributions they have made to the Alumni Clubs program through their time, effort and dedication! We also look forward to the exciting events of the summer that will bring the Lehigh family together from backyards to ballparks!
The Call to C.A.R.E. program is blazing a path to connect alumni to the university, each other and a charity of their choice! This year’s spotlight was the American Cancer Society and its Relay for Life fundraiser, where teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds and parks to take turns walking or running laps for those who have been touched by cancer and empower individuals to fight back.
The Call to C.A.R.E.’s Web site, www.lehigh.edu/calltocare, will take on new form and function this summer to include various alumni contacts who are active in particular charities and community outreach programs, as well as spotlights on philanthropic organizations of interest.
Linked by Tradition! This is the inaugural year for the integration of Reunion and Commencement and we cannot think of a better way for the Class of 2007 to be welcomed into the Alumni family!
Reunion will be held on Friday, May 18th and Saturday, May 19th. To find out more information on Reunion and to register for events, please visit www.reunion.lehigh.edu. The Class of 2007’s Commencement is on Sunday May 20th and Monday, May 21st. Please visit www.lehigh.edu/commencement for more information.
Also being welcomed into the Lehigh family is the Class of 2011! During July and August, Clubs all across the country will be hosting Incoming Student Sendoffs to connect, engage, and involve incoming students and parents with alumni and current students. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet the ‘11s in your area – Don’t miss it! Please visit www.lehighalumni.com/go/lehigh2011 starting June 12th for more information on Sendoffs in your area!
The Alumni Clubs Web site is currently undergoing a major renovation to make it easier for volunteers and alumni to get information and get together! Please visit often!
Feel free to contact us at alumniclubs@lehigh.edu with your comments about this or anything else!
Enjoy your summer,
Jill Anderson ‘91
