Alumni and Friends:
The Lehigh Club of Western New York is looking toward next year with a fresh outlook and a renewed sense of direction. The board of directors has completed our restructuring, with some new and some existing officers for the 2007-2008 year. Our mission remains: to connect alumni of the university by fostering a sense of community here in Western New York, and to promote the interests of Lehigh. Our goal is to unite as many Lehigh alumni as possible from all classes and affiliations by offering a variety of events.
In addition to the annual Lehigh/Lafayette Telecast, this year we would like to plan an evening of baseball with the Buffalo Bison — hopefully to celebrate Matt McBride ’07 catching here on his way up to the Cleveland Indians. We recently celebrated the long-standing Lehigh/Lafayette rivalry at Tully's Good Times on Nov. 17, when alumni in the Western New York area gathered to cheer on the Mountain Hawks.
I would like to thank the constituents of the Club of Western New York for their continued support. Please feel free to contact the members of the board with any questions, comments or suggestions you might have.
Sincerely,
Bill Helfrich ’58
President, Lehigh Club of Western New York
