To My Fellow Fairfield County Alumni:

I am sure many of us have our own ways that we stay connected with Lehigh, whether we’re attending football games, milestone graduation parties, class sendoffs, or even watching as our own children attend Lehigh as legacies. With 2,000 Lehigh Alumni in the Fairfield County area, we are in a great position to revitalize our alumni base with the presence of a local Alumni Club.

A Lehigh Club could plan lots of events with fun, social, and educational opportunities. Many clubs have golf outings, monthly pub nights, and career networking receptions. What a great way to re-connect with Lehigh and her dedicated alumni!

The Incoming Student Sendoffs are already a popular event every summer, introducing Lehigh’s newest class to other students and alumni who are more than willing to share their best experiences from South Mountain. A special thanks goes out to Bill Cannon ’86, who annually hosts this gathering. Also, with the Lehigh/Lafayette football rivalry growing more intense every year, annual telecasts of the game bring alumni together nationwide, from Pennsylvania to Hawaii, to cheer on the brown and white. Bob ’49 and Ginny McCauley have been our lead cheering section for over five years at Bradford’s Grill and Tavern in Stamford.

If you are interested in reconstituting the Fairfield County Alumni Club, whether it is as an event volunteer or as a committee member, please email me at stevenscharkss@deloitte.com. I hope to begin by planning preliminary conference calls and future dinner meetings.
