Greetings Fellow Alumni and Friends,

The Board of Directors has completed our restructuring with some new and some existing officers installed for the 2006-2007 year. Our mission is to connect alumni to the University by fostering a sense of community here in Northern Ohio as well as to promote the interests of Lehigh University. Our goal is to unite as many Lehigh alumni as possible from all classes and affiliations by offering a variety of events. We are not a fundraising arm of the University, rather we are a means of connecting through social, cultural and educational programming.

With well over 500 alumni living in and around the Northern Ohio area and an increasing number of area students electing to make Lehigh University their school of choice, we have an opportunity to build a strong presence on behalf of the University while enjoying recreational events together. For those alumni who have met periodically over the past few years, it has been great to share our Lehigh experiences and memories with one another.

In order to ensure the long-term success of the Club, we are interested in providing a diverse slate of fun and informative events for all our members. You can assist in this endeavor by volunteering in a leadership role or by simply attending an event. What have you got to lose? Come out and meet some fellow alumni, renew old friendships and see what you've been missing!

In addition to social events, the Club also plays an active role in promoting Lehigh throughout the Northern Ohio area by attending college fairs, interviewing potential students and attending the Incoming Student Sendoff held at the end of each summer at the home of a generous alumnus.

The Lehigh Club is a volunteer-run organization and is run by a Board of Directors who help plan the calendar and manage other Club business like marketing, event planning, Club recruitment and creating the newsletter.

A sampling of recent events:

• Reception at the Mayfield Country Club featuring guest University speaker Rajan M. Menon, Monroe J. Rathbone Professor of International Relations.
• Brunch and tour of the Cleveland Browns Stadium with Alumni Association Director, Chris Marshall '88.
• A Cleveland Indians Game at Jacobs Field, Cleveland, Ohio. There were over 40 Lehigh people in attendance. Special guests were Tom Hyclak, Dean of the College of Business and a native of Cleveland and Slider, the Indian’s Mascot. Chuck Frankel '62 made the arrangements for a visit from Slider after the 7th inning stretch.
